The journey so far….
Hi I’m Dina, home cook, recipe developer and food writer. I was born in Jamaica and migrated abroad as a young child. My love for food started then but it wasn’t until my late 20s, that it became a real passion.
It started with the desire to find restaurants in London, where I could get real authentic Jamaican food. In my search to find authentic Caribbean food, I also discovered that there was a difference in the way Caribbeans and Indo-Caribbeans prepared their food.
I decided to research this more and was intrigued by what I found. I discovered there was a whole community of people with similar culture and experiences out there.
I discovered that although our recipes were largely the same, there were subtle but impressionable differences within Indo-Caribbean cooking.

I started to write down and share my recipes on social media and to my surprise the responses were very positive.
However, it didn’t stop there, I found a really passion for food from all cultures around the world and enjoyed learning about them.
Since then, Potini has evolved from a humble Instagram food page into so much more.
